'No one can plan his marriage'

The star drops his guard to field questions about Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and marriage with great ease

It's always a pleasure when Salman Khan drops his inhibitions to tackle questions about his peers, the young Bolly brigade and his personal life. At the press conference to officially launch the upcoming season of his reality show Bigg Boss, the star was in his elements and didn't think twice before pouring his heart out on topics, both tricky and easy.

People are still talking about your hug with SRK...
It was the holy month of Ramadan. I thought yeh gesture mujhe hi nahi sabko karna chahiye. Agar maarna hi hai kisiko, toh ek dusre ko kaam se maaro jaise woh abhi marke chale gaye. Meri agli film mein hum bhi koshish karenge phir. Aamir bhi aa raha hai aur ek naya ladka bhi aaya hai, Ranbir (Kapoor). Woh bhi maar raha hai.

Will you invite Shah Rukh on your show?
I can't hear you. (Pause) Of course if he is willing to come on the show, he is always welcome.

Three questions that upset you the most?
How brain dead are people to ask me questions about my marriage. Kisiki shaadi kisike haath main nahi hoti. Bhagwan ke marzi ke bina patta nahi hilta toh biwi kahan se aayegi. Uske liye koi ladki bhi honi chahiye. Also, questions like -- what is the USP of your film? -- irritate me a lot. I won't do any bakwas film, right?

What more do you want to achieve in your career?
If I manage to maintain what I have achieved, that is more than enough for me. There was time when I would go and ask for work but now I cannot do that. The day that happens I will not work. Times have changed and if someone is not offering you work, it means they don't want to work with you.

We heard you're getting a huge amount for the show?
I am not getting paid as much. I am still negotiating with them. They are purposely giving me a smaller figure so that other artistes don't demand fat fees too! (Laughs)

What brings you back to this show?
I have done four seasons so far and I would love to continue as the host. The rest depends on the channel and baki on mere competitors ki pictures kaise chalti hai.

Would you ever do a show on the lines of Satyamev Jayate?
The day Aamir (Khan) decides not to do the show, then I will do it. Amitji (Bachchan) KBC kar rahe hai. Jis din woh kahenge ke ab mujhse nahi hota, main woh show bhi kar lunga.
